Do Your Homework Before Steam Mop Shopping
Before shopping, you may want to check out some of the steam mop reviews that are available online.
Of course, if you have any of your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or family members that own one, find out what brand they own and what they think about it. Better yet, see if they will let you take it for a test run.
On the other hand, if no one you know owns a steam mop yet, it's easy to find unbiased information online, in order to learn what others think of the various models.
Many online stores (Amazon comes to mind) post reviews written by regular people just like you. It is almost the same as getting information from someone you know.
Note that I stated "almost". When reading reviews, you have to take everything you read with a grain of salt. For example, some people are pleased with everything they buy. On the other hand, there are others who are never pleased. That is why one product may have a mix of positive five star ratings with negative one star ratings. Without personally knowing the reviewer, it is hard to get the full picture. On top of that, some people have a personal agenda. For example, a disgruntled ex-employee may write a negative review as a way of getting back at their old employer. Take these things into consideration. The more reviews you read, the easier it will be to decipher the true reviews from the ones you should ignore.
If unanswered questions remain, you may want to contact the customer service department for the brand you are interested in purchasing. See how they respond to your inquiries. By doing a little homework upfront, you should be able to find a model that best suits your needs.
Armed with the knowledge you gain from reading the different steam mop reviews, you will have more knowledge and insight regarding the different available brands. This information will prove invaluable when making a purchase.
